As far as companions go, wine and chocolate are perfect together. We’ve explored them in the traditional sense before, but combining them together in a mug of chocolate is an entirely new (and delightful) experience.
It’s the richness of chocolate combined with the slightly fruity notes of red wine. It’s an amazing combination, full of flavor—an unexpected marriage of two beloved indulgences.
What you need:
6 oz. of Dark Sipping Chocolate
1/3 cup of red wine (we recommend Pinot Noir or Shiraz)
2/3 cup water
1/3 cup half & half
1/3 cup milk
Pinch of kosher salt
How you make it:
Combine red wine and sipping chocolate in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer over low heat until melted completely. Add water, half & half, milk and salt; bring to a boil. Cook for another 3 minutes while whisking.
Pour into beautiful glasses and enjoy. Add a touch of sugar for those with a sweet tooth.
